Driving directions: Both terminals are bordered by Highway 62 (to the north), the I-494 (to the south), Highway 77 (to the west) and Highway 5 (to the east). Follow the exit signs on I-494 and Highway 5 to reach the terminals.

Light Rail to Minneapolis and beyond: | Summary: A new light rail service to the airport is now open. Trains stop at the Lindbergh Terminal and connect travellers to 15 other destinations, including downtown Minneapolis to the north and the Mall of America to the south. Service to the Humphrey Terminal has been temporarily suspended during construction works, and will resume in autumn 2007. In the meantime, a free shuttle bus runs between the terminals. The shuttle bus stop at the Lindbergh Terminal is at the ground level Transit Center, between the Blue and Red parking ramps and near the entrance to the Lindbergh Terminal light rail station. The shuttle bus stop at the Humphrey Terminal is at the Ground Transportation Center on the ground level of the existing Humphrey Terminal parking ramp. Shuttle buses between the airport's 2 terminals run at ~10 minute intervals, 24 hrs a day. Access to Stations: The Lindbergh Terminal light rail station entrance is near the Transit Center, between the Blue & Red Parking ramps. From the Lindbergh Terminal Tram Level (2 floors below the Ticketing Lobby), take the automated Hub Tram toward the Transit Center. When you exit the tram, follow the signs to the light rail station, 70 feet underground. Route: Mall of America shopping center - 28th Ave - Bloomington Central - Airport Humphrey Terminal (see above) - Airport Lindbergh Terminal - Fort Snelling - VA Medical Center - 50th St/Minnehaha - 46th St - 38th St - Lake St/Midtown - Franklin Ave - Cedar/Riverside -Downtown East/Metrodome - Government Plaza - Nicollet Mall - Warehouse District/Hennepin Ave (25 mins). Timings: Light rail trains to and from the Lindbergh Terminal run every 7-8 mins during peak hours and every 10-15 mins at other times. From the airport, trains run to the Mall of America in ~11 mins and to the Warehouse District in downtown Minneapolis in ~25 mins. Cost: Light rail fares are $2 during rush hours (Mon-Fri 0600-0900 and 1500-1800) and $1.50 at other times. Tickets are sold at machines at the rail station.
