Location: 11 km/7 Miles S of the city center.
Airport Overview: One main terminal for all domestic flights and a separate International Arrivals building (close enough to easily walk). Baggage claim is across the road from the main part of the terminal. The Rental Car Center is across another road from baggage claim, on the lower level of the car park. Buses and taxis leave from outside baggage claim, except for the Milwaukee County Transit Bus (see below).

MCTS - Public Bus 80 to Milwaukee: | Airport Bus Stop: The Milwaukee County Transit Services (MCTS) bus stop is not outside baggage claim like the other transport options. It is 100m away (3 minute walk). Exit baggage claim through door 1 and turn left. Follow the signs. There is a bus stop, but no schedules posted. Schedules are available in baggage claim. Route: MATC South Campus (Mon-Fri only) - Airport (MCTS Bus Stop, see above) - S Howell Ave - W Edgerton Ave - S 6th St - 6th St/Layton Ave - 6th St/W Mitchell St - 6th St/St Paul Ave (change here for the Milwaukee Intermodal Center (buses and trains) - 6th St/W Wisconsin Ave (Downtown Milwaukee) - 7th St or 8th St/Center. Here the route splits with alternate buses heading towards Villard @ Appleton or to 35th St/Capitol. Timings: Buses leave the airport heading North towards downtown Milwaukee Mon-Fri at 0454, 0528, then every 12-30 mins until 2322, 0002 & 0043. Saturdays every 15-35 mins 0443-0036. Sundays every 20-35 mins 0558-0048. Buses leave downtown Milwaukee (6th & Wisconsin) heading South towards the airport Mon-Fri at 0455, 0521, then every 12-30 mins until 0028 & 0103. General: | The Milwaukee Airport Railroad Station (MARS) serves rail passengers connecting to flights at Milwaukee Airport. The station is not at the airport terminal, but along the western edge of the airport. The station is open 0545-2200 Mon-Sat and from 0715-2200 on Sunday. Car parking is available outside the station for $2 for each of the first 2 hrs (or fraction thereof), with a maximum of $5 per 24-hour period. A free shuttle bus connects rail passengers to the airport terminal in accordance with train schedules (transit time 5 mins). Shuttles to the train station depart from outside exit 4 of baggage claim. Trains run from the airport station directly to Milwaukee city centre (20 mins) and to Chicago Union Station (1 hour 25). |

Cell Phone Parking: | Cell phone parking lots, located within 5 minutes of major airport terminals, are intended to reduce airport congestion. Motorists coming to the airport for arriving passengers can go to one of the cell phone parking lots. Once the arriving party reaches the terminal sidewalk with luggage in hand, he or she makes a call. The waiting motorist can be curbside within minutes to quickly pick up the traveler and be on their way. The Cell phone parking lot at Milwaukee airport is on the right as you approach the terminal, near the MCTS bus stop. Maximum waiting time 30 mins, thereafter $2 per hour. |
Airport Hotels: There are no hotels at the terminal itself, but there are several close to the airport, and along the MCTS Bus 80 route. These include Motel 6, Clarion Hotel, Super 8 & Best Western Hotel. Milwaukee Airport Econo Lodge is 1 mile from the airport and has a 24 hour airport shuttle. Tel (414) 764 2510.
