Location: 4 km/2 Miles S of the City.
By Taxi: To the city ~US$2-4/10-15 mins.
By Bus: Bus #8 runs into the city.

Almaty/Алматы (ALA):

Location: 16 km/10 Miles NE of the City centre.
By Taxi: To the city centre KZT 700/30 mins. US$5 is the normal price, but be prepared for an argument to obtain this fare. US$20 as a max.

By Bus:
Note:	At Aalmaty airport, a lot of people try to convince you that there is no bus to the City center. To catch the bus, you MUST exit the airport (there is only one exit), and walk about 300 metres, and you will see a few number of buses that run to the city center. Nº 32 and 79 are ok if you are going to the bus station (Sayahat) near city center or the Central Mosque. Cost: KZT 50 coin.
Airline Buses:	Some airlines reportedly run a free bus into town.
Long distance buses:	Some companies run buses from the airport to Bishkek.
Hotel Buses:	Some larger hotels, such as the Hyatt Regency, offer transfers to the airport for guests.

Baggage Storage: Left Luggage facilities reported to be available.
Notes: You can avoid the hassle of Passport and Customs Control by arranging (and paying for) a VIP service for $50-75. Your local office or hotel in Almaty can arrange this for you. Make sure it is arranged beforehand.
Be aware of the following scam in operation. There have been several occasions where someone with a sign with your name on it will meet you somewhere before you exit (in baggage claim or Passport Control). This person has copied the sign of the legitimate driver who is waiting for you after Customs Control. This driver will then escort you to his car and drive you halfway into town and drop you off. He will not take you the rest of the way unless you pay him several hundred dollars. Therefore, make sure you have some way to identify your driver other than a handmade sign.

Location: 28 km/17 Miles N of the City, near Segendy.
By Taxi: Available, and believed to cost ~US$5.
By Bus: Reported to run into the city.

Location: 18 km/7 Miles S of City.
By Taxi: ~US$10/20 mins to City Centre.
By Bus: Bus#10 & 15T runs into the city ~every 30 mins, passing down Respublika.
Notes: Astana was formely known as Akmola/Aqmola.
