Girona/Gerona - Costa Brava (GRO):

Location: 12 km/7 miles SW of Girona, 76 km/48 miles NE of Barcelona & 24 km/15 Miles NNW of Lloret de Mar.
Airport Overview: One terminal (divided into departures and arrival sides) with car parking opposite and a bus stop outside.
By Road: About 1 hour to Barcelona on good roads.

By Taxi:
General: Taxis wait outside the arrivals side of the building.
Approximate Costs (Set fares): To Girona ~€20, Platja D'Aro €45, Lloret de Mar €45/30 mins, Roses €80 & L'Estartit €60.

By Train: The nearest station is in Girona city, from where frequent services operate to and from Barcelona, as well as to other major cities across Spain & Europe. Train info is available here.
Car Parking: Right opposite the terminal: 1st hour €0.40, 2 hrs €0.50, each extra hour €0.75. Daily rate for first 4 days €7.50 per day. Daily rate after 4 days €6 per day.
Notes: ATMs/Cash machines are in the terminal. Baggage Carts/Trolleys require a refundable €2/£1 deposit.

By Bus:
General: There are 2 buses from the airport, one to central Barcelona (now stops in Estaciò del Nord, beside Arc de Triomf) and one to Gerona/Girona bus station (behind the train station). There are also 3 Ryanair buses that serve the Costa Brava beach resorts. Both these bus companies have information desks in arrivals near the car rental offices.
Barcelona Bus to Girona city: Route: Runs from the bus stop outside arrivals (exit and turn left) to Girona bus station (behind the train station).
Timings: Buses leave the airport daily every hour 0430-0030. Buses leave the bus station in Gerona (stand 7) daily every hour 0400-0000. Transfer Time: Takes 29 mins.
Cost: €2.30 One way, €4.40 return (30 days). Get ticket from the office by the bus stands (can pay driver too). Contact: Tel 902 361 550.
Barcelona Bus to Barcelona: Route: Runs from the bus stop outside arrivals (exit and turn left) to central Barcelona (now stops in Estaciò del Nord, beside Arc de Triomf).
Timings: Buses run according to flights. Buses leave the airport from 0830 to 0015 in accordance with the latest flight schedules. For latest timings see here. Transfer Time: Takes ~70 mins. Cost: Single ticket €12, return €21 (valid 30 days).

Ryanair Costa Brava North Bus: Route: Airport - Figueres - Empuriabrava (Puigmal 1 - Carreterra) - Empuriabrava (Centre Civic/Beach) - Roses (Post Office) - Roses (Station).
Timings: Buses leave the airport daily at 0945, 1830 (Mon-Fri only) & 2145. Buses leave Roses station daily at 0620, 1130 (Mon-Fri only) & 1820. Buses leave Empuriabrava (Centre Civic/Beach) daily at 0635, 1145 (Mon-Fri only) & 1835. ◊Buses leave Figueras daily at 0655, 1205 (Mon-Fri only) & 1855. Buses run all year round except December 25, 16 and 1st Jan. Transfer Times: From the airport to Empuriabrava 1 hour 15 mins. To Roses 90 mins. To Figueres 55 mins.

Ryanair Costa Brava Centre Bus: Route: Airport - Sant Feliu de Guixols (station) - S'Agaró - Platja d'Aro (station) - Sant Antoni de Calonge - Palamós.
Timings: Buses leave the airport daily at 0945, 1830 (Mon-Fri only) & 2145. Buses leave the airport daily at 0930, 1100, 1530 & 2230. Buses leave Palamos daily at 0545, 0845, 1345 & 1745. Buses leave Sant Antoni de Calonge 15 mins later. Buses leave Platja d'Aro daily at 0600, 0900, 1400 & 1800. Buses leave S'Agaro 5 minutes after that, and from Sant Feliu de Guixols a further 10 mins later. Buses run all year round except December 25, 16 and 1st Platja d'Aro 1 hour, Sant Antoni 70 mins & Palamos 1 hour 15.

Ryanair Costa Brava South Bus: Route: Gerona city bus station - Airport - Lloret de Mar - Blanes - Malgrat de Mar - Santa Susanna - Pineda de Mar - Calella de la Costa - Tossa de Mar. Not all buses stop at all towns.
Timings: Buses leave the airport daily at 0850 (all resorts except Lloret & Tossa de Mar), 0930 (Lloret & Tossa de Mar only), 1100 (Lloret de Mar & Blanes only), 1300 (all resorts except Lloret & Tossa de Mar), 1430 (Lloret & Tossa de Mar only), 1830 (Lloret de Mar & Blanes only), 2130 (Lloret de Mar & Blanes only) & 2230 (Lloret de Mar & Blanes only. Mon-Sat only). Buses leave Tossa de Mar daily at 1125 & 1540. Buses leave Blanes daily at 0715, 0945, 1100, 1200 (Mon-Sat only) & 1840. Buses leave Lloret de Mar daily at 0730, 1000, 1145, 1600 & 1900. Buses run all year round except December 25, 16 and 1st Jan. Transfer Times: From the airport to Lloret de Mar 35 mins, Blanes 55 mins, Tossa de Mar 55 mins.

Frog Bus to Perpignan etc: Bus service from Girona Airport to Perpignan & Le Boulou (small town just over the Spanish/French border). Cost: Internet reservations must be made by 1700 (French time) on the day before travel. Last minute tickets are available on the bus at €20.

Reus (REU):

Location: 4 km/2 Miles ESE of Reus, 9 km/6 miles WNW of Tarragona & 90 km/56 miles WSW of Barcelona.
Airport Overview: 2 terminals, one for departures and one for arrivals, situated a short walk apart.
By Road: To Tarragona 13 km/8 Miles. To Barcelona ~70 mins & Sitges ~40 mins.

By Taxi:
General: Taxis stop outside both terminals.
Approximate Costs (Set fares): To Reus train station ~€16/30 mins, Tarragona ~€22. There is a taxi desk in the arrivals building. Call +34 977 345050.

By Bus:
Bus #50 to Reus: Route: The bus runs on a circular route: Airport (The bus stops outside both the departures and arrivals terminals) - Bus station - Greco - La Salle - Pastoreta - Pg de Prim - Font de Rubinat - Pg de Sunyer - Oques (city centre) - Joan Rebull - RENFE (Train station) - Folch i Torres - Niloga - Llibertat - Av de Sant Jordi - Fira de Reus - Jutjats - Redessa - Jardins de Reus - Ploms - Airport. Change at the train or bus stations for connections to beach resorts.
Timings: Buses leave the airport (both terminals) on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays & Sundays at 0825, 0915, 1015, 1115, 1215, 1315, 1550 & 1650. On Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays at 0825, 0915, 1550, 1650, 1950 & 2050. Buses leave city train station on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays & Sundays at 0755, 0845, 0945, 1045, 1145, 1245, 1520 & 1620. On Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays at 0755, 0845, 1520, 1620, 1920 & 2020. Buses leave the city bus station 10 mins later. Transfer Times: To Bus station 20 mins, Oques 25 mins & Train station 30 mins.
La Hispano Igualadina bus to Barcelona city: Route: Airport - Barcelona (Maria Cristina Metro Station) - Barcelona Sants (round the corner).
Note: On my visit in January 2007, I was unable to locate the correct bus stop at Maria Cristina. There are 2 or 3 bus stops outside Corte Ingles, but none had any information regarding this bus. Notes from a Traveller Jun 2008: Apparently the bus was around the corner from Sants Station, but I did find it. It was on a Saturday, and there was one bus at about 1015, and then not another one until about 1630. The only problem I had was the timetable provided by La Hispano Igualadina was not clear, and the times did not match the actual times of the buses. I tried to phone them to check the timetable several times on all the numbers they gave, but could never get through, and was just held in a queue "all of our operators are busy" - in Spanish. I held on for quite a long time each time, and never got through.
Timings: A new Reus airport bus schedule is now in force. For info call +34 902 44 77 26. Transfer Times: To Barcelona ~90 mins. Cost: €11 one way.

La Hispano Igualadina bus to Tarragona: Route: Airport - La Floresta - Tarragona.
Timings: Buses leave the airport Mon-Fri only at 0725, 0825, 0925, 1255, 1355, 1455, 1755, 1855 & 1955. Buses leave Tarragona Mon-Fri only at 0750, 0850, 0950, 1320, 1420, 1520, 1820, 1920 & 2020. Buses leave La Floresta 10 mins later. Transfer Times: To Tarragona ~25 mins.

Car Parking: Available right outside the terminals. Notes from a Traveller September 2009: The parking charges introduced are very reasonable for short stays, but long term charges are €8.90 per day for the first day and from day 5 reduced to €7.10. ie stay of over 5 days you can calculate on paying a parking fee of €8 per day . . . very expensive and there seems to be no alternative to long term parking as yet!
