---|---|
General: | At Terminal 2, the bus stop is on the lower level between terminals 2A and 2B. Note on Bus/Metro Tickets: Warning, if you use single tickets, you have to validate a new ticket on every vehicle you use. The only exception is the metro - you validate one ticket and can use it on every metro lines for 60 minutes. But you cannot leave the metro, and cannot use it to go back. Bus tickets are HUF 450 one way from the driver, or HUF 350 if bought in advance from newsagents etc. |
New direct bus line no. 100E between centre and airport | From the city it leaves from Deák square at every round clock and 30s. Same frequency from the airport. It takes approx. 35 mins to the airport with one stop at Kálvin tér. Same on the way back from Terminal 2. |
BKV Bus 200E to Köbánya-Kispest metro: | Bus 200E runs between the underground terminus at Kőbánya-Kispest (the end of line M3) and Ferihegy Airport Terminal 2. Route: Ferihegy Airport Terminal 2 (stops halfway between 2A & 2B on the arrivals level) - Határõr Igazgatóság - Repülõtér, D porta - Ferihegy Old Terminal 1 (across the road from) - Csévézõ utca - Felsõcsatári út - Kőbánya-Kispest Metro Station. From the Kőbánya-Kispest station you need another ticket for the metro (HUF 350) to take into you town. The best place to get off is probably Deák tér (15-20 mins), where all 3 underground lines meet, and which serves as a interchange for trams and buses. On arrival at Kőbánya-Kispest station just follow signs for the bus stop. Timings: Buses run Mon-Fri 0400-2300. From 0500 until 2000, buses are every 10-12 minutes. Outside these times, 2 or 3 times an hour. Weekends & Holidays 2-4 times an hour 0430-2346. Transfer Times: Takes 24 mins from T2. Night Bus 900 to Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út & Del-Pest: | Bus 900 runs at night when Bus 200E does not. Route: Airport Terminal 2 - Repülőtéri bekötőút - 4. sz. út - Üllői út - Ferihegyi repülőtérre vezető út - Gyömrői út - Május 1. tér - Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út - Üllői út - Sallai Imre utca - Gilice tér - Sallai Imre utca - Méta utca - Dél-pesti autóbuszgarázs vá (Del Prest Bus Garage). Timings: Buses leave the airport nightly at 2325, 2359, 0029, 0059, 0129, 0229 & 0329. Buses leave Del Pest bus garage at 2349, 0033, 0141, 0241, 0343, 0413 & 0443. Transfer Time: To Del Pest bus garage 27 mins. Important Note: In order to get to the city centre, you need to change at Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út station to other buses such as 950 or 950A. You have to validate another ticket!! This is very important because Bus 900 continues to Délpesti autóbuszgarázs (South Budapest bus garage). This is far from the city centre. It is a good idea to follow the crowd - most people transfer to the city centre. Cost: You need a HUF 450 ticket to travel on the bus, which can be bought on the bus, or HUF 350 if bought in advance from newsagents etc. |

By Taxi: | |
---|---|
General: | Taxis are available from the airport at the taxi stand. There is only one taxi company allowed to pick up passengers from this airport, and that is currently Főtaxi. Contact: Tel 2 222 2222 or www.fotaxi.eu/. For your security: DO NOT TAKE any taxi than official Főtaxi or any other company called by phone. There are some people in the arrival exit gate that offer unofficial taxi services. Be aware and for your security do not use they services |
Approximate Costs: | To the city centre (Pest) ~HUF 7000/25 mins. To Buda ~HUF 8000. Notes from a Traveller November 2013: Base fare: HUF 450, then HUF 280 per km and HUF 70 per minute waiting. So for example: from BUD Airport to Buda (Batthyány square) it is about 23km: It is HUF 450 + HUF 23x280 + waiting. so it is 6890 plus waiting. Every Taxi company has to use this price. So if a traveller gets into a taxi in Budapest and knows the distance, he can calculate the price. There are no fixed prices any more in Budapest. Public trasport is a lot cheaper and it is very good in Budapest! |

Notes from a Traveller: | November 2013: It is very convenient to go by train to BUD Airport T1, where you can change to Bus 900 at night or Bus 200 by day, to go to T2. The train departs from Nyugati Pályaudvar (West train station). Many trains stop at Ferihegy station (BUD Airport T1) where you can change to bus to go to T2). It is the fastest way to go to the Airport by public trasport. The other way is to go by M3 Metro to Kobanya-Kispest and then change to Bus 200 but it is very slow, because the M3 metro is very slow. I always use train bus as it is really fast. BUT be careful! Snow may interrupt the train service. If this happens you should go by metro. But in normal weather the train is the best. May 2012: Trains stop at Terminal 1 and Budapest Airport plans to set up shuttle bus service from Terminal 2 to the train station which is still the cheapest way to reach the city. |

Notes from a Traveller October 2010: ATM - there's an ATM where you pick up luggage (long line at ATM) - there's another ATM in a corner off to the right (no/short line at ATM) just before you exit the door for Taxis - break large bills at the little coffee cafe right THERE next to the ATM.
