Metro Manila Taxis: | (yellow metered taxis only) and limousines are available to Manila City centre. PHP 380-450/US$6-9/15-30 mins. |
Pre-booked Taxis: | To avoid being hassled, book a taxi at one of the taxi stands before leaving the airport and then go directly to the taxi desk outside the airport with the ticket. |
Notes: | Airport taxis are reported to be a rip-off, charging up to 4 times the meterd fare. To avoid this, walk up the stairs to arrivals (ask if you cannot find the stairs) and get in a taxi that someone has just arrived in - nobody will care. Go by the meter and add a few extra Pesos. When heading to the airport make sure you tell the taxi driver which terminal, if you go to the wrong one it is another taxi ride across to the correct one. |
Notes: | Complimentary hotel cars can be arranged at the airport's hotel reservations desks. |
By Bus: An airport bus runs to Metro Manila. Cost: PHP 50, takes 45 mins. A cheap and frequent Metrobus also operates to central Manila. Takes 60-90 mins.
By Train: Notes from a Traveller August 2011: It is relatively straightforward to get from the MNL airport to downtown for PHP35. At the airport exit there are signs with a "bus station" marking, leading you just outside the door and a bit to the right. Signs indicate the destinations. One includes "LRT", which is the light rail system. Take the bus to the light rail station (have the driver point out to you when you arrive, as it isn't obvious from the road), then buy a rail ticket heading northbound. The bus is PHP20 and the rail ticket is PHP15. Bus service is about every 15 minutes; rail service is frequent.
Rental Cars: Several companies are at the airport including AVIS.
Transfer between terminals: Taxi costs PHP 50. A Jeepney vehicle runs between the terminals for PHP 2. All Philippines Airline flights have been transferred to the newer Terminal 2.
Airport Tax: Departure taxes of PHP 550 for Intl flights & 200 for domestic.
Baggage Storage: Left luggage facilitiea available at the Intl terminal.
Airport Hotels: The Manila Airport Hotel, Tel (632) 854 7549, is very close to the Intl terminal (just across the car park).
