By Bus: | |
---|---|
General: | No bus calls at the airport terminal itself, but if you exit the terminal and turn right and walk the short distance to the big roundabout on the main road. There is an ESSO garage there, and the following buses stop there: |
Bus #30 to Asuncion city: | Routes: Linea 30 buses run to the city on 2 different routes. One takes you into the city on the main road Mariscal Lopez, and the other runs down España. It is easy to tell where the buses go by the sign in the window, however I would recommend asking the driver. Buses can be flagged down anywhere along the route. The buses are fairly old with no air conditioning, but are a reliable and cheap way of getting to and from the airport. Detailed Route to the City: Airport Roundabout - Avenida Autopista Aviadores del Chaco - Avda General Jose de San Martin - Avda Mariscal Francisco Solano Lopez - Avda General Santos - Mcal Jose Felix Estigarribia - Presidente Franco - City Centre. Other Buses go along Avda Espana. Going from the city to the Airport, not all Linea 30 buses go as far as the airport. Ask the driver. The best place to catch a bus to the airport is on Oliva. Buses then continue along Avda de Espana. Linea 30-2 seems to be a good bet. Timings: Buses run fairly frequently, every 10-20 mins or so from early until ~2200. The trip takes 40-50 mins to the centre. Cost: One way trip PYG 2300 (although on one occasion I paid only PYG 2000). |
Hotel Buses: | Some hotels, including the Hotel Excelsior provide complimentary transfers for guests. |
