Airport Overview: 3 terminals linked by shuttle bus. Terminal 1 is for all international airlines (except Emirates) and is split into arrivals and departures, side by side. Terminal 2 is for business, regional, ;ow-cost (such as flyDubai) and charter flights. Terminal 3 is now fully open, and all Emirates flights now operate from this terminal. Only Emirates operates from this terminal. Terminal 3 has arrivals on the lower level, and departures on the upper.
Transfer between Terminals: A free shuttle bus runs between Terminals 1 and 3 every 20 mins 24 hrs a day and takes 5-10 mins. The stop at terminal 3 is on the upper/departures level outside Entrance 3 (cross one road). The stop at terminal 1 is on the upper level between the arrivals and departures buildings (opposite the blue 'Dubai Airports' sign). To get to Terminal 2, use a taxi.
Driving directions: The Airport Road runs SE from Dubai city centre on the east side of The Creek (Al-Khor). From the south, cross Al-Khor at Al-Garhoud Bridge and drive north, then turn right at the intersection with the Airport Road.

General: | There is a single public bus stop outside the lower level of Terminal 1. There are no signs for the bus stop, so after exiting customs, turn right and cross the roadway. You will see an unmarked bus stop about 50m to the right. Schedules are posted. For Further Info Call 800 9090. All buses are air-conditioned. Notes from a Traveller Oct13: You now need an electronic chipcard-like ticket, the bus driver did not accept cash when we came. You can get these rechargeable cards at the metro station (however the door to get there is closed at night, when the metro doesn't run) or at another ticket vending machine (quite hard to find), downstairs outside one of the Terminals (we asked airport staff waiting for the bus where we could find it). |

By Train: The Metro Red Line operates from Terminals 1 & 3 at Dubai Airport into town and along Jumeirah Beach as far as Jebel Ali. Union Square is the station for Deira and the old city. Cost: Tickets are in the form of rechargeable cards, which can be bought from vending machines at the station. There are 4 different colours: silver, blue, gold & red. A silver card costs AED 20 (including AED 14 of credit) and is designed for frequent travellers who just want to get from A to B. Individual fares then cost from AED 1.80 - 5.80. A red ticket costs AED 2 and is good for 1 trip. See dubaimetro.eu.

Inter-Terminal Transfer: Transfer between the terminals takes 10 mins using the airport shuttle service. The new concourse is linked to Terminal 1 via a tunnel with travelators. Terminal 2 is used for business and charter flights.
Notes: ATMs/Cash machines available throughout in all terminals. There are desks for many of the local hotels in the arrivals area of each terminal, as well as a Central Reservations Service for hotels.
Baggage Storage: There is a left luggage facility in terminal 3, to the rear of the arrivals level at the exit 1 end.
Airport Hotels: The Dubai International Airport Hotel, tel +971 (0)4 216 4300 or 4289 is the closest, being in the departure area of the terminal. There are many other hotels close by, including the Holiday Inn Dubai, Golden Tulip Aeroplane & Intercontinental Dubai. 2 short stay hotels in the terminal may negate the need for travel outside the airport for rest during long changeovers. Rates are in 4 hour blocks costing AED 550 for the first block and AED 110 for each block thereafter.

Al Maktoum International - Dubai World Central (DWC):
Location: 15 km/9 Miles SSE of Jebel Ali Port, 27 km/17 Miles S of Jumeirah Beach & 45 km/28 Miles SSW of Dubai city center.
By Train: Al Maktoum Intl Airport will be served by the Dubai Metro and a dedicated Dubai World Central light railway system.
Notes: This airport is currently under construction, and is expected to open in June 2010. Eventually all foreign airlines using Dubai will land at Al Maktoum airport, leaving only Emirates Airline at Dubai Intl. This airport is sometimes known as Jebel Ali Airport.
